April 6, 2000

Trout fishing in Lafayette Resrvoir has been fair to good with folks catching limits of 12 inch average trout according to EMUD personnel. Night Crawlers and Power baits are the taste of chose for trout.

Many Anglers are finding that Harry’s cove has been some what the secret spot for fishermen. Within the top 10 feet of water is your best bet to catch anything.

Bass fishing is still slow. Very little anlgers are actually trying for Bass at this time.

The overall weather can be considered as warming up. Averaging in the mid 60’s to low 70’s the past week, and slight breezes have not affected fishing at all.

March 30, 2000

Not much has changed as for fishing conditions. According to EMUD personnel the lake is looking very nice. The water itself is as clear as a whistle and producing a lot of Trout. The overall weather has been very nice, with temperatures averaging in the mid 60’s.

Trout has been the top catch at the lake with averages weighing in at 2 1/2 lbs - 9 lbs. This is not unusual for the lake during this time of year. You should expect to catch trout off of the same types of baits in Power baits and night crawlers. The most productive area of the lake seems, atleast for now, to be the East Cove.

Bass fishing has been limited. Anglers are catching them, but nothing heard of as for limits.
