Reports direct from the boat: New Aggressor, Bodega Bay

Another banner day of Tuna fishing aboard the New Aggressor!!! Fridays trip ventured out at 4 am and got into a bite of Albacore 34 miles west of Bodega at position 38.19X123.47. After a few 5 to 8 fish stops, all hell broke loose! We had the fish boiling on the corner for 2 hours straight! The size of the fish was incredible! all 15 to 45 pounds. At the days end The New Aggressor had 160 tuna in the iced fish hold for 18 anglers. Today we ran a whale watching trip for The Oceanic Society to the Cordell Banks. We begun to wonder if we would find those amazing Humpback whales we have been seeing out there. The fog was thick all the 23 miles we traveled and no spouts were spotted for the first half of the day. After crossing over the Banks, reaching the western edge, dropping off the Continental shelf, the fog lifted and 3 separate pods were spotted, all feeding Humpbacks. We approached softly and shut off our engines and enjoyed a wonderful show including spy hops, pectral fins and fluke shots. Humpbacks offer the most animated shows off the California coast. Oceanic just opened up another trip for Humpback and blue whales, just contact us for more info. Rock fish is great at Cordell and up the coast, including many Ling cod landed and also the Salmon bite remains strong along 10 mile beach in 30 to 40 feet of water, with many fish in the 40 pound class.
